Random thoughts

Today for the first time I parted with my violin. It was tough and I do not know if the parting could have been avoided. Tried my best though.
Wonder whether people around are cunning or I am gullible. A recently widowed cousin wanted witness signatures and yours truly happily consented. On reaching the bank, it turned out that they were actually guarantor signatures. Bound by promise, I signed the papers and also asked my son to sign. I had taken him along since 2 signatories were required. Then began the saga of trying to retrieve the papers which is a big story and can fill another blog.
Not long after, my violin teacher for the past one year called and asked if my violin practice was going good and if the violin was in shape. Not knowing the trap, I violently shook my head in affirmation as though it was visible over phone. Then came the shock. He wanted my violin for a concert. Thinking he would return it in a couple of days yours truly agreed. Was I Karna's sister in my previous birth? Inspite of the warning that things should be given only to the deserving, time and again, I am making the mistake of promising and giving myself away. Do i suffer from some mental ailment? I do not know. Both the times, my dearest sister comes to my rescue. But I am not sure if the same can be expected from her if I goof up once again. Fervently praying that my violin will come back in one piece and pining for it.
